Simply Earth OCTOBER Recipe Box – Unboxing & Review

Recently updated on January 8th, 2021

Well Hello, October!

Ahhhh, it’s finally fall! Phoenix is finally down to the mid 80s, pumpkin everything is within a hand’s reach and… FALL CANDLES! All is well in this world.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I thrive during the fall. I fell like I can focus better, my creativity is always up and I’m just a nicer person in general haha (the brutal Az summers really do make people grumpy!)

I have high hopes for October! I hit so many personal blogging goals during September and I just feel so excited and motivated to push myself even more this month. I am a few days away from my fall break {teacher} and I seriously can’t wait to just buckle down, sit on my couch and get to WORK on all things Guitar and Lace.

With that being said, I was SO excited to see that this month’s Simply Earth Recipe Box was all about fall, focus and CANDLES. Yup! Homemade essential oil candles. Keep reading for my full review on October’s recipe box.

The Recipes:

This October Box is everything I thought it would be and MORE. I definitely predicted the cinnamon (Cassia) and orange! Those two scents combined are literally what I think “Autumn” smells like. However, I was super excited to see the addition of Balsam Fir and a Focus Blend!

Balsam Fir is one of my favorite scents of all time and the Focus Blend is so pure and invigorating. This will definitely be used on repeat while I work in my classroom! {By the way, my students looove when I diffuse essential oils. A bunch of them have already asked their parents for a diffuser for their own bedrooms! So cute!}

I love that I get to make my own homemade candles. I actually have tons of little homemade mercury glass votives from my wedding that I will be using. {See blog post on how to make mercury glass votives here}  These would be such a cute gift idea!

Likewise, I can’t wait to make my own lip balm! I am so leery on what I apply to my face and lips. I love that I know exactly what is in my lip balm!

Here are the recipes in this month’s box 🙂

Focus Lip Balm –  Homemade HEALTHY lip balm?! Yes please! This is a mixture of the Focus Blend, coconut oil and beeswax from the Big Blue Box (info on the Big Blue Box at the end).

Cassia and Balsam Fir Candle – Homemade fall candle without all of the unknown chemicals! This scent combo smells like the holidays to me and I am loving it!

Joint Pain Roll On – A blend of Orange, Balsam Fir and Cassia oil to help relieve inflammation and pain. This reminds me of a natural icy-hot!

DIY Aromatherapy Rice Bag – A mixture of Orange oil, Focus oil and rice poured into a sock. You can use this as a warm compress for sore muscles.

Cassia and Orange Candle– Cassia and orange come together in this beautiful fall candle scent! This scent combination is pure autumnal bliss!

Fall Diffuser Blend – All of this month’s oils combined into a beautiful autumnal scent!

My Honest Review:

They had me at fall candles. Seriously! I have been wanting to turn my dozens of leftover wedding votives into little candles for quite some time now. I will take this recipe box as a sign!

I have loved every recipe box from Simply Earth thus far! However, this month’s oil combination is definitely my favorite! All of the oils compliment each other so well and they all have tons of purpose to them. Most of the oils have germ killing, pain fighting, mood uplifting and bug repelling “secret powers” to them. Best of all, they all blend into the coziest autumnal smell ever!

My favorites:

Balsam Fir and Orange mixed together. Amen. Seriously though, if you have not tried this diffuser combo yet…you should!

It’s hard to choose one favorite, but I can tell that Sweet Orange will be used up quickly! Not only do I love diffusing Sweet Orange, but I use citrus oils for so many cleaning products! Specifically, I love making refrigerator deodorizers with a few drops of Orange oil and a couple table spoons of baking soda. I mix it up in a small white mug and tuck it away in my fridge.

The Focus Blend is a force to be reckoned with! I definitely smell the eucalyptus and it is fantastic! The addition of orange and frankincense give it a bright and earthy vibe too. If you like invigorating and pure smells, you will love this!

Any Cons?!

Is there such thing as pumpkin spice oil? Asking for a friend…  Honestly, this recipe box did not disappoint me one bit! I wanted to embrace fall scents this month and they nailed it.

Some of the recipes require products that are included in the Big Blue Box, so I would definitely recommend snagging one! Luckily, the Big Blue Box is FREE once you order your first Simply Earth Recipe Box 🙂 See more info below!!
