Happy Weekend, Everyone!
I hope you are all having a wonderful summer so far! I have been absolutely loving this summer, but it is going by way too fast… The biggest news for me is that my husband and I just celebrated our 1st year of marriage this month! We actually just got back from celebrating in Ireland 🙂 Fun fact, we didn’t go on a honeymoon so we could save up for a big one year anniversary trip. So glad we made that choice!!
Ireland was magical, but I am happy to be back home and I am so ready for all things JULY!

The Recipes:
I love how every box comes with a theme! July’s box is all about kid friendly oils and recipes. I do not have kids of my own {unless you count my husband…ha!}, but I still found that I could use every oil and recipe. Best of all, I know that I can safely diffuse these oils in my classroom.
Sweet Dreams Roll On – A blend of calming oils and coconut oil that can be used before bedtime. Perfect way to help settle your kids down! Especially during the summer since you can’t use “it’s a school night” as an excuse for another few months. :-p
Sweet Dreams Bath – A blend of calming oils, coconut oil and epsom salts. Did someone say bath?! I love adding Lavender to my baths, so I cannot wait to try the Sweet Dreams blend! I personally love the chamomile/cedar-wood/Lavender scent even more than Lavender by itself.
Lavender Scented Bubbles – Using materials you already have in your kitchen, you can make lavender scented bubbles with your kids! How fun?! There are even tips on how to make your own bubble wand.
Homework Diffuser Blend – I live for these diffuser recipes! This one in particular promotes focus and fights fatigue. I have been diffusing this all week and it smells so bright and crisp! Love it!
DIY Scented Stress Ball – Using materials you already have, you can make an aroma therapeutic stress ball. This is especially perfect for children with sensory needs! I work in special education, so this can easily be put to use. Let’s be real…I may even use this for my own stressful work days. {Summer break is going to last forever, right?!}
Natural Slime – I saved the best for last! Who doesn’t love slime?! Slime was the fidget spinners of 2019 for teachers. We constantly were saying “put the slime away.” I will admit, I always wished that I had my own slime to play with that wasn’t filled with the germs of my 30+ students…It looks so cool! I love how this one isn’t filled with glue and toxins. Kids are so sensitive and just think about all the toxins they absorb by handling chemical filled slime? This one is natural, fun and you can make it any color you like!

My Honest Review:
Overall, this box is a FANTASTIC deal for the everyday oils included. At first, I a tiny bit concerned on how much use I could get out of a kid-themed recipe box since I do not have kids of my own. However, once I saw the oils included, I was all in! Tangerine, Fir Needle and Lavender are perfect for cleaning products, deodorizing kitchen smells, and just diffusing everyday. While the recipes are perfect for kids, they can also be used as an adult. My husband is already begging to make the slime this weekend…need I say more?! I think this box is more about oils that are SAFE for kids and not JUST for kids, if that makes sense. However, If you do have kids, you will find these recipes to be a perfect way to keep your kids entertained and healthy this summer.
As I’ve mentioned in last month’s review, the scent power of these oils are amazing! My new favorite diffuser blend is Tangerine and Fir-Needle and I can smell it all over my home. It is such a bright and clean summer scent that reminds me of camping in the pines. It also really helps get rid of odd kitchen smells. {we are big fish eaters!}

My favorites:
Tangerine and Fir-Needle blended is my new jam! I diffuse it daily. I also have been adding a few drops of both oils to a small bowl of baking soda that I keep in the fridge. As someone who looses her cool over odd kitchen smells, I love the deodorizing qualities of these oils!
Remember how obsessed I was with last month’s Anise Star?! Well, Sweet Dreams blend is this month’s “Anise Star”. I will purchase this one over and over. I love adding a few drops of the Sweet Dreams blend to my bath towels before sending them into the dryer. They come out with a beautiful, warm calming fragrance! This oil is very similar to lavender, but it smells spicier with the cedar-wood and I definitely pick up more chamomile notes.
Any Cons?!
Last month, I mentioned how hard it was to find a “con”. The same goes for this month! This month’s kid-themed box really proved that I can really make use of any recipe box no matter the theme. Just remember, these oils are safe for kids, but can be used for just about anyone and any essential oil recipe!
