Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2024 – Popular items! Are they worth it?
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is just a few weeks away and while the overall list of products seems a bit smaller than usual, there are definitely some stand out items!
As someone who has been covering this sale (for both work and for fun hehe) for about 7 years now, I have a good grasp on which items tend to sell out faster than others. With that being said, I’ve made plenty of N-Sale purchases to know what items are actually worth the sale price.
Today, I am going to share the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2024’s most popular items (aka high sellout risk) and whether or not they are worth it!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2024
Every year the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale releases their sale inventory as a preview for shoppers to browse. During this preview, you can also see how many people are currently viewing each product. This pretty much indicates just how much potential a certain item has to sell out.
With that being said, I like to go through all of the products and see which items have a huge view count. The new balance sneakers, nuna stroller & carseat and adidas gazelle sneakers tend to be the most loved with thousands of views within the first hour of the sale.
Nsale 2024 Dates
The sale will kick off for everyone beginning on July 15th, however cardmembers of different levels will get early access as early as July 9th.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Baby Gear – worth it!
If you are expecting or in need of new baby gear, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the perfect sale to purchase high end baby strollers and car seats for a discounted price.
My first son was born in fall of 2021, so the Nsale came at the perfect time! We actually purchased our uppababy vista v2 stroller. It came with a bassinet attachment, rain shield, infant & toddler seat and a few more add ons.
Many people also gush over the nuna trvl lx stroller + pipa car seat because it comes with the infant car seat. This year, it is cheaper than the uppababy!
Uppababy Vista V2 vs. Nuna TRVL LX stroller
I truly think the Uppababy and Nuna strollers are both the Mercedes of the baby stroller world, but we personally went with the Uppababy Vista.
After testing both strollers in person, my husband and I felt that the uppababy vista v2 stroller just drove better (not by much, but noticeable). We also loved the fact it came with a baby bassinet. That bassinet got TONS of use on our daily walks.
As for travelling, we go go on multiple flights a year and have never had any issues! Our stroller came with a cover, so we just take our child to the gate in the stroller and then the airline checks it all in for us. Once we land, they have the stroller up and ready for us once we exit the plane.
Also, the uppababy vista v2 stroller converts into a double stroller which we new would be of good use for us. Now that I am 9 months pregnant again (what?!), we are excited to finally use this feature! Honestly, this stroller has been a beast the last 3 years!
On the other hand, the nuna trvl lx stroller + pipa car seat is such a steal because you get the infant car seat! We did have to purchase our uppababy car seat separately.
Maxi Cosi Pria car seat
We purchased our maxi cosi pria car seat on sale in 2022. Our son was just about to grow out of his infant car seat and we wanted to purchase a new seat that would be used until he was out of car/booster seats all together.
The maxi cosi pria car seat is technically an all in one car seat for newborns up to 100lbs, but nothing beats the convenience of an infant car seat of newborns that you can carry and pop in and out of a stroller.
We personally loved the sale price, look and features of this car seat.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Birkenstocks – worth it!
This year’s Nordstrom Sale Birkenstocks come in a beautiful burnt orange color that I love! I did get the ecru color during last year’s sale, so I am debating whether or not I need another pair.
I will say that anytime Birkenstocks go on sale, the purchase is worth it! These are the most comfortable sandals I own and the quality is amazing.
Birkenstock Sizing
Sizing was a bit confusing at first for me! After following the size chart, I ordered a size 7 (38 in Birkenstock sizing). The sandals did fit, but I had to adjust the straps to the smallest setting and even then I had a little room.
I ordered a second pair in the 6.5 (37 in Birkenstock sizing) and they fit perfectly!
For reference, I am usually size 7 but will wear anything between a 6.5-7.5 depending on the shoe and brand. With that being said, I believe Birkenstocks run a little big since I needed the 6.5 (37).
Birkenstocks: Arizona vs. Madrid
If you are torn between trying the Arizona or the Madrid sandals here is a little input to hopefully help you make a decision 🙂
In my opinion, the Arizona is easier to adjust to and a little more comfortable. The double strap makes the sandal feel very secure and easy to walk in.
On the other hand, the Madrid sandals feel a little floppy at first, but still comfortable to walk in. As for appearance, the Birkenstock Madrid sandals definitely look more trendy and elegant!
If you are looking for a comfortable sandal to wear everywhere (especially when travelling/walking everywhere) then the Arizona is probably your best bet! However, if you are looking for more of a trendy (yet still comfortable) sandal that will look good with dresses and casual outfits, then the Madrid is definitely a winner!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Athletic Shoes – worth it!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale always has the best sneakers! Last year, they released these beautiful neutral New Balance Sneakers. This year, the same pair is back!
I found these ran a little snug in comparison to other sneakers I own. If you like to wear thick socks, I would order a half size up. Even better, order two sizes to ensure you get the best fit! (Nordstrom has free returns)
If you are a runner, then this sale is the best time to invest in a pair of On cloud running shoes.
N-Sale Zella Activewear – worth it!
One of my favorite products to shop for during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is athleisure! Specifically Zella Activewear.
Every year I purchase the new color in the zella live in joggers. These are by far my favorite pair of everyday joggers! The quality is amazing, they wash well and they are very flattering on (no saggy joggers here!).
I have had the black pair for almost 5 years now and still wear them all the time. As a work from home/stay at home mom these joggers have honestly become a part of my uniform haha! Comfy, yet cute!
Zella rarely misses and this year’s inventory is simply perfect! If I lived in a cooler climate, this white coatigan would be a must have.
N-Sale Beauty, Fragrance & Hair – worth it!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale beauty products are easily the star of the show! Often times, this sale is the only “sale” for some of these products.
If you know you love a certain product, it is definitely worth purchasing the set or jumbo version on sale! For me, I am constantly repurchasing Sunday Riley Good Genes (it is soooo good!), so the jumbo size is worth it for me.
Likewise, as a pale freckled girl living in a 110 degree world this supergoop spf set is always appreciated! I set the large sunscreen pump near my front door and slather it all over my face, neck, chest, shoulders and top of my hands anytime I have to leave the house.
On the other hand, be careful with jumbo size products and expiration dates. I purchased a jumbo size facial scrub years ago (back when they sold the Philosophy brand) and I personally couldn’t finish the product before the expiration date. I even used it a little past the expiration date, but even then I never finished the entire bottle.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Pajamas – worth it!
If you are a homebody like I am, then quality pajamas sit pretty high on your list! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the best times to treat yourself to a new set of pajamas for the year.
Last year I purchased this plisse pajama set in the olive green and blue. I love how they are technically pajamas, but they can be worn as a casual matching sets as well. I like to style this set casually with a grey ribbed tank top under and wear the button down top open.
I would personally pass on the luxury silk pajamas. I ordered a pair last year and ended up returning due to quality. Most of the reviews agree that the N-sale silk pajamas are cheaper quality than their normal inventory.
N-sale Products I would personally pass on
It is incredibly easy to get caught up in the hype of the sale and end up with things you don’t really need or end up using. Believe me, I have purchased so many random things during the last 7 years of this sale (that I’ve been participating in) and end up regretting a lot of it.
For me these are the products that I typically pass on:
- Sweaters: The majority of the n-sale sweaters are overpriced for what you get. Most of the fabrics are acrylic blends and hand wash only and simply do not last. I have purchased many anniversary sale sweaters in the past, and the only sweater that truly has held up is this Free People “swim too deep” sweater. Even then, it’s $80+ for an acrylic blend sweater… sigh.
- Fashion Shoes: I have a wide foot, so I tend to have a hard time finding flats that fit me comfortably. Every year I try the Steve Madden flats (they are always so cute) and end up returning them for the lack of comfort vs. price. Last year, I purchased a pair of Nordstrom’s own brand flats and LOVED them. The quality was amazing, so I am very hopeful for these Nordstrom brand cream mary-jane flats.
- Designer Handbags: This may be controversial, but I am convinced that all of the Tory Burch, Coach, Rebecca Minkoff anniversary sale bags are just cheaper versions of their other bags. The sale prices make you feel like you are getting a brand new “Coach” bag at a great price, but you are pretty much getting a lower quality version. Think an “outlet” version.
- Barefoot Dream Blanket: Nobody needs an almost $200 blanket even if it is on sale. Trust me… I purchased one years ago. It was wonderful the first year, but slowly lost its buttery softness. I always followed the washing instructions and babied the heck out of it. My son ended up adopting it as his “blanky” which in a sense makes it priceless to me now, but I would never purchase another one.
- Jewelry: Similar to the handbags, I am convinced that designers release what they title as “anniversary sale exclusive products” to get away with selling a lower quality product. If the product is only sold during the anniversary sale, I am skeptical.
