Happy Monday, everyone!
Can you believe tomorrow is the 1st of September?! I have been doing tons of reflecting and goal setting this last week! I love the week prior to a brand new month. It always puts me in a grateful mood looking back on all the new milestones reached, goals met and skills learned.
This month, I started a course with LadyBossBlogger and it has been such an eye opener and fantastic resource for me as a content creator.

My Background as a Content Creator
Before I get into all of the details, I want to share my history as a content creator with you all!
I have been blogging/content creating professionally since 2017. I made maaaybe $20 a month the first half of 2017, but there was still growth!
I began to see the most growth in 2018 and eventually my blogging income surpassed my teacher income! Nifty right?! Now, in 2020 I see SO much potential in content creating, however I have not been able to get over this plateau I’ve been at for all of 2019-early 2020.
Instagram seemed to be the missing link for me… I just couldn’t figure out how to see growth.
Enter in… the LadyBossBlogger course!
How the LadyBossBlogger Course Changed my Mindset as an Influencer
I’ll be honest, I didn’t have many goals coming into August. After being in a blogging plateau for so long, I just got kind of used to barely growing.
My August Goals were:
- increase my earnings
- see growth in my following
- create more content
These goals have basically been on repeat for the last year or so! While I barely achieved these goals month after month, they started to become meaningless to me.
The most valuable piece of advice I took from the LadyBossBlogger course, was to always have a purpose and a plan.
My August Goals became:
- increase my earnings – so I can have financial stability if I lose my job as a music teacher due to Covid (a HUGE possibility)
- see growth in my following – so I can build a community to learn from
- create more content – because I honestly love it! I enjoy writing, styling outfits and helping others.
This switch in mindset instantly made creating content more enjoyable.
How LadyBossBlogger helped me Plan better
I would say my blogging style has always been “create when I feel like it and hope for the best”. While that style has worked well in the past, it is by no means a strategy that will lead to long term success.
LadyBossBlogger has really switched my mindset from “hobby content creator” to “boss with a purpose”.
I started implementing strategies such as content scheduling, using various planning apps, and studying my analytics data. By the way, this course gives you an entire years worth of content ideas… SO valuable!
Right away I felt more organized and inspired!
The Right kind of Growth
I think it is SO important to note that influencer growth is not an overnight thing. There are so many services out there that claim to make you “Instagram famous in 24 hours”, but are they really beneficial in the long run? No. If anything, quick fixes are harmful to your Instagram engagement scores!
A good strategy will allow slow, CONTINUOUS growth that will increase overtime. The LadyBossBlogger course is filled with nothing but good, natural and realistic strategies. Best of all… they work!!
Since starting the LadyBossBlogger course, I have seen a healthy and continuous amount of growth. I am SUPER excited about it! It has been a steady growth that I haven’t seen since 2018.
Where I have seen growth
- Instagram – I am up a couple hundred followers! That may not sound like much, but in today’s instagram that equates to probably 1,000. There are SO many people doing the “follow – unfollow” strategy, so my following can be up 50 followers one minute and then down 100 the next… It’s nice to see the number increasing permanently.
- RewardStyle – My main source of income has grown almost 50% this month! This growth was HUGE for me. RS has been a slow, yet steady growth, so it is exciting to see my stats up almost 50% this month!
- Blog – My traffic skyrocketed at the end of July and it has been continuing to grow. I know with the new strategies that I have learned in LadyBossBlogger, it will grow even more.
- Pinterest – Hello 2.7m monthly viewers! I remember it taking me almost 3 years to even reach anything close to 1m… now I am approaching 3m?! Consistency is key!
- Collaborations – While I haven’t had anything quite as big as my gig with JCPenney, I have had more companies reach out to me than ever before! More importantly, these companies are brands of products that I love. I am currently working on a collab with Mapiful.
My Goals for September
The LadyBossBlogger course took me a few weeks to complete, however I am far from being done! This is definitely a course that you can take over and over again and STILL learn something new. There are so many solid techniques, tips and strategies to try!
My goals for this upcoming month:
- Create more meaningful content. Fashion blogging can feel materialistic at times, but it can also be so uplifting! My goal is to find the “warm and fuzzy” side of fashion blogging. Content that helps others!
- See growth in my earnings. We should never feel shame in wanting to earn an income. I need to let go of the guilt and be proud of what I do. This is tons of hard work and I should want to earn top dollar.
- Create content for my followers. Instead of watching the number on Instagram go up and down, I want to embrace the number of followers engaging with my content on a daily basis! Those people are AWESOME and deserve my focus and attention.
- Reach more followers. I feel like we can sometimes idolize that follower number a bit too much. Sure 10k sounds nice and I’ll get there eventually, but only through honest strategy. I want reach more followers naturally! Those are the people that will stay, shop and become a community for my blog.
Closing Thoughts
In brief, the LadyBossBlogger course has really changed my entire mindset as an influencer. As I mentioned earlier, I have been creating content for over 3 years now. I would basically create and hope for the best. Now I have a plan, specific goals and strategies to achieve everything.
I cannot express how much gratitude I have for everyone on the LadyBossBlogger team! They have put so much heart and hard work into this course in order to help content creators like us. They deserve all the success in the world and I have no doubt that they are on their way to it!
