Valentine’s Date ideas during Quarantine

Happy Last Week of January!

We have almost had an entire year of adjusting our lives because of Covid, crazy huh?! I don’t know about you, but my entire year was one big adjustment. Not necessarily a bad thing though!

Birthday parties turned into car parades. The 4th of July turned into a Netflix binge night after most firework shows were cancelled. Thanksgiving and Christmas felt smaller. Maybe you celebrated via Zoom?! What a year!

While these “adjustments” can never replace our best traditions, it has proven that we all can “make do” pretty darn well!

Now that Valentine’s Day is headed in our direction, I thought I would share some safe date ideas!

6 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas – Covid Edition

Here are 6 ideas to celebrate Valentine’s day this year! All of these ideas are perfect for Galentine’s day and family Valentine’s day as well 🙂

Why only celebrate on Valentine’s day?! Honestly, these ideas are perfect for any date night while social distancing from the community you live in. It’s been a tough season of life, so why not treat yourself!

Movie Night in a Boho Tent

Recently, I have been seeing more and more of those “secluded boho picnic” companies becoming popular. Basically, you can hire them to set up a gorgeous picnic in beautiful, secluded settings.

They can be pretty pricy, so why not set up your own instagram worthy boho tent in your own backyard?

I found THIS BOHO TENT on Amazon! It is the perfect size for movie snuggles! If you have kids, this would be such a fun tradition for them. Best part, you do not have to return it at the end of the night!

Fill the space with the coziest pillows, blankets, LED candles and champagne of course! (sparkling cider for the kiddies, because they want to feel fancy too hehe!)

Valentine’s Day Hot tub Date

Amazon continues to deliver (literally and figuratively) with THIS INFLATABLE HOT TUB! We all can now bring the spa to our backyards this year. Also perfect for those of you living in colder locations. (We all can’t be blessed with Arizona’s winter 70’s…)

This would be the perfect surprise date night, because it’s so dang random! Set up the patio with some candles, Alexa nature sounds, spa robes and of course… champagne!

Plus, it gives you an excuse to buy yourself a new swim suit 😉

Valentine’s Day Sunset Hike

If you live in a warm winter climate, you know it’s hiking season!

I love a good sunset hike with my husband. It’s such a nice break from staring at screens all day. We usually treat ourselves to a smoothie or tacos afterwards!

If you both love to run, maybe find a new trail to try! Make it feel more special by treating yourself to a cute new pair of leggings and shoes. Valentine’s day can be a day of self love too, ya know!

Dates do not have to be over the top and expensive. There is something to be said about trying something new and experiencing new places together.

Valentine’s Day Picnic

Want to know my new favorite spot for a picnic? Hint: it is definitely not the beach… (sand gives me the heebie jeebies).

My patio!! Okay, okay… I am a homebody to begin with, but seriously… I’d pack a picnic basket with tacos any day and sit on my patio with a glass of wine. Space heater would be ideal…

I promise I’m not that lame (maybe…). I can do a nice picnic up in the pines as long as the temps are above 60 haha! While the mountains (if you have them) may be a little too icy this time of year, a nearby park or lake would be perfect for a sunset picnic!

However, if duck poop isn’t your thing either, then it’s time to invest in a nice patio sectional 😉 Pick up your favorite takeout food and catch some fresh air!

Valentine’s Day Cozy Date Night

2020 may have been one big {dysfunctional} cozy night at home, but it’s time to up the ante! Make this normal, predictable date night seem a little more spontaneous for all parties involved (lover, kids, dog…)

Treat yourself to a cozy new PJ set, because you know you will be living in them a little longer. Order food from your favorite places! Don’t skip dessert this time. Eat some

Build the coziest living room fort as if you were seven and outrageously creative again! Binge watch your favorite shows and just enjoy the simplicity of each-other’s company.

Fancy Dinner Al Fresco

Depending on your current situation, you could still potentially have a dinner date at your favorite restaurant! Most restaurants are providing outdoor dining arrangements for guests.

Even better, most restaurants (at least in my area) are providing discounts for curbside pick-up. We got options, folks!

What better excuse to buy a gorgeous new dress and have Valentine’s Day feel somewhat normal?! Plus, it’s a great way to help your restaurants stay afloat during this difficult time.

Or, if it is a little too unsafe or chilly for you to be dining out, why not bring the luxury dining experience to your home?!

Most (if not all) restaurants have curbside delivery now! Splurge on your favorite meal, wine and dessert. Then create your own bougie dining experience at home.

Whether you want to wear a gorgeous evening dress or your coziest jammies, you will be making memories no matter what!
