Ah! The best time of the year! While we are in the midst of an awful heatwave, all of my favorite stores are releasing their fall inventory. A glimpse of hope, I suppose.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale always kicks off ‘Fall Dreaming’ for me. I really just love browsing at the upcoming trends, fawning over the cute shoes and acquiring a bit of inspiration to use with my current wardrobe.
To me, the best deals of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale are always the shoes, boots & sneakers. Forget the $50+ hand wash only sweaters, $180 jeans and blankets that cost more than my water bill… The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale SHOES are where it’s at.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 – Riggs Knee High Boot
The Riggs Knee High Boot (Steve Madden) is the perfect everyday casual boot. They look trendy with boxer style shorts and oversized sweaters, classic with dresses and a bit retro with loose fit jeans tucked into them.
Honestly, this style of boot is the closest we’ve been to the 2014 riding boots and chunky necklaces era. They just feel like home.
I really love the laid back vibes and almost distressed appearance to the leather. It is as if a hunter rain boot became a normal everyday knee high boot.
This style of boot started trending a year or so ago with the Frye Campus Boot. So, if you have been counting how many hours you need to work in order to afford the famous Frye Campus Boots, you may love these! The Riggs Knee High Boots are a close dupe and almost 4 times cheaper than the Frye Campus Boots!
SIZING: tts, but I personally go up a 1/2 size in all boots for socks. My calves are about average, and they are not snug or too loose.
NSale 2025 – Adidas Gazelle Bold Platform Sneaker
I never thought I’d get to this place, but sneakers have fully replaced booties for me.
These Adidas Gazelle Bold Platform Sneakers are the perfect everyday sneaker. They are obviously casual, but still nice enough to wear with a casual dress. I love to fall-ify my summer linen dresses with a denim jacket and a pair of cute everyday sneakers!
SIZING: Adidas Gazelles always run big on me! I am anywhere between a 6.5-7.5 depending on the brand and style of shoe. Both the 6.5 and 7 fit me (when can I get a 6.75??) However, I think I prefer the 6.5, since sneakers tend to relax over time.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – Destin Slingback Flat
If I were currently a shoe, I’d be these Mustard Brown Houndstooth Slingback Flats. The print is everything. The fit…everything (I love Franco Sarto’s fit). They are really just giving autumn in London during the late 60s.
I love the slight bit of heel to these “flats”. They are definitely polished enough to be “shoes for work”, but trendy enough to wear with some ankle jeans and an off the shoulder sweater.
I also grabbed the same shoe in red (for science). There is this particular shade of red patent leather that just looks so crisp with denim jeans, shades of brown plaid and olive green. It is the perfect red for fall.
These shoes ARE that perfect crisp fall red. It is a bright cherry red, but with a hint of orange.
I needed to know…like I said, for science. 😉
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – New Balance 327 Sneaker
And the award for most flattering athletic sneaker goes to… The New Balance 327 Sneaker.
Seriously, there is something about the shape and cut of these athletic shoes that are so leg flattering. More importantly (I suppose), they are very comfortable and lightweight.
Do I run? Nope… but if I needed to, I would hope that I’d just so happen to be wearing my The New Balance 327 Sneakers.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 – Valiey Slingback Flat
I was so excited to try these brown suede Vailey Slingback Flats by Vince Camuto! I’ve owned a pair of suede booties by Vince Camuto since 2017, and the quality has held up beautifully.
I love the look of these slingback block heels. They will look so cute with wide leg/flare jeans, mini skirts and plaid trousers.
I really am interested in the Hamden pointed toe slingbacks. I may have to check those out and see if I prefer the higher block heel!
