Bathroom Wall Shelf for Plants – with Lowe’s
Thank you, Lowe’s for sponsoring this post!
I’ve been staring at this blank wall above my new bathtub for about a year now. Do I add art? a shelf? …leave it blank?!
Our bathroom is very bright, airy with really good afternoon sun exposure. We have grey and white checkerboard floors that feel very classic, blue shower tile that gives the whole space a serene feel and pure white walls that allow the western sun to illuminate the space all afternoon.
On the other hand, the blue, grey and white tiles can make the space look cold, so I was really wanting to refresh the “serene” spa-like vibes we had going on. The bathroom was in need of something fresh and organic to warm up the space!
What better project than a plant wall shelf?!
Bathroom Wall Shelf for Plants – with Lowe’s
One of my favorite parts of starting any home project (big or small) is the trip to Lowe’s. It really has become a family outing!
We love looking at all of the tile, flooring, and paint colors imagining what projects we want to do next. Moreover, my toddler and 6 month old both love going down all of the light fixture aisles. (honestly, same)
We found the perfect shelves for our bathtub wall! These allen + roth 24″ wall shelves in the color “natural” match perfectly with our bathroom vanity. I love how all of the hardware is included as well, which is extra helpful!
Now, let the decorating begin! I knew I wanted some greenery to display on these shelves and Lowe’s has a great indoor plant selection.
I ended up choosing three indoor plants: Nerve plant, Inchplant and Satin Pothos. All three plants will do well with the bright indirect lighting that particular wall receives. Likewise, they will thrive in the humidity being near the tub and shower.
Products used for this project:
- Two 24″ wall shelves in the color “natural”
- One 5.5″ white terracotta pot
- Two 4″ white terracotta pots
- Three 5″ white terracotta saucers
- Glass Plant Mister
- Nerve Plant (in store at my Lowe’s)
- Satin Pothos (in store at my Lowe’s)
- Inchplant (in store at my Lowe’s)
These shelves are very sturdy and were pretty easy to install. Within an hour or two we had a brand new set of shelves with some beautiful new indoor plants!
We decided it look best to center the shelves with our standing tub. Likewise, we left a little room below in case we felt we needed a third shelf. For now, I am loving having just the two wooden shelves but I guess we will see!!
