Happy Friday, Everyone!
We did it. We made it to the end of August! I don’t know how you feel about August, but I definitely do not vibe with it. I’m just going to spare the negativity and say, helloooo SEPTEMBER! Bring on all the coziness of fall!
{Warning: about to get a little deep and cliche-y.} To me, Autumn transcends way beyond just being a season. I feel like it represents saying goodbye and shedding off “the old” and preparing for “the new” (whatever that may be in your life). Change is necessary at times and it’s such a blessing to be able to recognize whats not “alive” for you anymore and just let it fall…like an Autumn leaf, if you will. haha! (should have added cheesy to my warning label.)
With that being said, I always feel less distracted by life, more cozy, intuitive and more introverted than ever during the Autumn months (and that says a lot, because I’m already suuuuper introverted). For me, it’s time to let go of everything that stresses me out and choose joy!

September’s Recipe box comes with:
- Cajeput Essential Oil – Invigorating, fresh and green smell. This reminds me of a sweet eucalyptus fragrance. Definitely perfect for congestion!
- Lemongrass Essential Oil – Love this scent! It smells very green and lemony. This is great for boosting moods, cleaning and I even heard that it repels mosquito!
- Bay Essential Oil – Bay is bae. Another fav of mine! This smells like a sweet, yet kind of spicy herbal tea Perfect for pain relief, digestion and even helps fevers.
- Happy Joy Blend {Geranium, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit, and Ylang Ylang } – If heaven had an oil diffuser, this blend would be on repeat. It’s floral yet bright with the citrus. The Recipes:
I am LOVING the recipes in this month’s box! I was actually expecting more of a fall theme, but it was refreshing to see that they didn’t just go all “autumnal spice” with the oils. These oils and recipes just fit so perfectly with the changing of the season. I love the practicality of the homemade soaps and pain relieving compress. Not to mention the GORGEOUS oil scents this month!
Sugar Scrub Soap Bar – A mixture of the provided Glycerin soap base, sugar, cinnamon and the heavenly “Happy Joy” oil blend.
Happy Joy Roll On – This is basically a purse sized “hug”. This oil blend is truly uplifting and I will be purchasing this over and over!
Flowers & Spice Soap – Hello fall transition scents! This is a mixture of the Glycerin soap base, Bay, Cajeput and dried up flowers for looks. I may just use dainty dried up chamomile flowers from Trader Joes! What a cute gift idea too!
Happy Joy Facial Soap – Beautiful and fresh scented soap made from the provided Glycerin soap base, Happy Joy Blend and lemon zest! Another great gift idea!
Pain Compress– This is a mixture of Cajeput, Lemongrass, and Bay used as a compress. All of these oils are known for their pain relieving properties and they smell amazing!
Flowers and Spice Diffuser – All of the month’s oils mix so well into this lovely diffuser blend! Why haven’t I thought of fall transition scents until now?! This blend is just gorgeous!

My Honest Review:
I cannot get enough of this month’s recipe box! The oils are feminine, clean, practical and spiritual.
I’m not trying to go all hippie on you all, but these scents filled in a fragrance void that I never knew I had! I feel like I always go from bright fruity summer scents to spicy gourmand autumn scents in a snap. It’s kind of drastic and it feels rushed in a way. Kind of like how a lot of us just beg for it to be fall when it’s the end of summer. I just LOVE how these are a transition between seasons. They are floral, yet starting to be spicy. There is a darkness to the herbal fragrances, yet there is still that bright “daylight” mood with the Lemongrass and Cajeput. This month’s box is definitely “almost” fall and I’m here to celebrate that.
My favorite part of this box is easily the Happy Joy blend. Think of this blend as capturing a moment of simple joy opposed to over the top joy. This scent to me is a Saturday morning where the house is clean and the sunlight is flooding the room in all flattering ways as I sip some tea and scroll through Pinterest. Ya know what I mean?!

My favorites:
The Happy Joy Blend is EASILY my new favorite blend! It has such a beautiful floral scent to it! It literally smells like a fresh, cold bouquet. The pop of citrus is bright, but not too overpowering. This has been my go to morning blend on the weekends! I love diffusing this and just enjoying quiet mornings at home.
The essential oil compress has been amazing! I have had a temporary crown for about a month which has caused me some discomfort. Long story short, my dentist keeps having to remake the permanent crown due to minor fitting issues. It’s all good! I just have been having a little discomfort and soreness on my jaw. This compress has been the perfect nightly treatment! The fragrances even seem to put me to sleep. I will definitely be getting tons of use out of this recipe!
Any Cons?!
I always have a tough time finding a con! When I first saw Lemongrass, I was certain there would be a homemade mosquito repellent recipe. I could easily look it up on Pinterest, so it’s not even disappointing to me! All of the oils and recipes are perfect!
